  • What is Chary On Top?
    Chary On Top is the ultimate platform for all sorts of charitable givings. We create easy-to-use tools to help charities get all the support they need. With our fast and easy dashboard, charities can create unlimited donations, events, and work campaigns in seconds. Chary On Top makes giving as simple and effective as it gets.
  • Who can register to Chary On Top?
    Any charity that is registered to HMRC and/or CASC can use Chary On Top. But we also require your annual reports for our transparency graphs. All we ask is your contact details, charity registration number and most recent financial report of your accounts. (if not available the bank statements of the last 3 months)
  • How are Chary On Top fees?
    Chary On Top strives to be 100% transparent, so rest assured there are no hidden fees, charges or contracts. The platform is FREE (just for donation campaigns) until you’ve raised £250 per month. However we need to keep the lights on and cover the cost of running the platform. So, once you’ve raised more than £250 per month we will charge you a small amount of £12 + VAT per month.   • How is Chary On Top funded?

  • Why Chary On Top?
    With the collaboration of talented designers, skilful software developers and marketing specialists, we built a platform that is compact and very easy to use for both supporters and charities. Our dashboard helps charities create and track all their campaigns within seconds. We provide a secure payment system provided by Stripe and simple GiftAid reclaim by SwiftAid. Chary On Top is the only giving platform that provides marketing space for events and job opportunities. This way you can market and track all of your services from just one platform. There are no commitments, commissions or upfront payments, we only charge you if our platform has been used successfully.
  • Can we claim tax return (Gift Aid)?
    Yes. Any registered charity has the ability to claim gift aid on their donations. Make sure your organisation has registered with GiftAid to claim tax return.
  • How will we collect Gift Aid?
    We have partnered with Swiftaid to make the Gift Aid claim process as efficient and simple as possible. Swiftaid is notified every time a qualifying donation is made to the charity through Chary On Top. Gift Aid will automatically make its way directly from HMRC to your charity.   • Are your services safe to use?
    Yes! With Chary On Top, you control what happens to your data. Share it or maintain your privacy – you decide. We believe that respecting the rights and privacy of donors is the first step towards building trust so we give the option for supporters to stay anonymous. If the supporter wants to receive updates on the cause they care about, will give their name and email so they can be contacted by your organisation. All payments are handled through our payment provider, Stripe. (PCI- certified service provider Level 1) Therefore Chary On Top does not store any card details.   • How do I register to Chary On Top?
    Once you decide to join Chary On Top, you can click here and submit the join in form. After checking your organization you will receive a link to set up your account. In 24 hours your account will be verified and you will receive a username and a password to access the dashboard.
  • How does the system work?
    Once you log in to your dashboard, within seconds you can create as many campaigns, events and jobs as you want, there are no limitations at all. You can edit, add and delete the pages within your terms. You have the flexibility to do whatever you want within the given services. You can track your donations, how well your campaigns are doing, and get notified when a supporter wants to attend your events or wants to volunteer/work for your organization.
  • Do you provide technical support?
    Our dashboard is designed in the most simple way possible to make things easy and fast for you, but if you face a technical difficulty you can contact our support team and get a response within one working day. Although, depending on the cause of the issue, it may take longer or shorter to resolve the problem. If you’re having issues accessing Chary On Top dashboard or if its slow in responding, then check your internet connection. Try switching between WiFi and using your mobile data to see if this helps.   • What are the payment transaction fees?
    Payment fees are 1,4%+20p. Unfortunately we don’t have the budget to cover all of the fees right now. We give the option for supporters to cover the transaction fees so you can receive 100% of the donations.
  • Does Chary On Top store bank account information?
    Chary On Top has no access to any financial information of users. However we do require charities’ bank account details; Bank Name, Sort Code and Account Number to be able to transfer collected funds at the end of the month through if they don't link their Stripe account to our system.
  • How long does it take to receive the donations?
    We transfer all of your funds at the end of each month. The date may vary depending on working days. You can track all of your reports through the dashboard.
  • Can I see information about my donations?
    We give the option for supporters to stay anonymous, but if the supporter is comfortable with sharing their name you’ll be able to view the supporters name. Otherwise we just share the amount , frequency and the date of the donations of each campaign. If the supporter would like you to get in contact with them, their email will be shared with you.
  • Can I contact supporters from Chary On Top?
    If the supporter consents for your organisation to get in contact with them, their email will be shared with you. If you don’t see the supporters email please don’t try to contact them in any way.
  • What kind of donations can be made?
    We provide one-off or recurring donation options. This way supporters have the flexibility to donate per day, week, month or year. With our Gift It service, the users can also make a donation to your organisation on behalf of their loved ones. We also give the supporters the option to make donations through your website.
  • Will I be notified when I receive donations?
    You can track all the activities live through your dashboard. If you prefer we can set up an email notifier as well. If not, we suggest that you check the dashboard everyday to keep track of your supporters' behaviours.
  • Do supporters make donations only through you?
    Not at all! We urge you to link your website to your campaigns. So that we can direct any supporter to your websites. This way the supporters can read further details about your campaigns also if they prefer, they can make a donation through your website.
